Interlude

Men are born to be led. It is said that if a Land is a body, then he who sits at the throne is the head. Thusly a person without the apparatus to lead must therefore die as it is so with a Kingdom. By this reasoning, it must follow back through the logical progression of time, in so far as all moments have precedent, that there were leaders, perhaps dubbed Kings, before the Years of Fire and perhaps all through them, though this latter assumption has been rightly questioned.

Without available histories for those times, this chronology of Kings begins with Almar the Gatherer and follows through a clean and unsullied line to the present day of the Great Kings of our most honorable epoch.

A King is the voice of the people, its will manifest in a single person. If a King clutches his fist, his soldiers take arms. Should a King rest in bounty, it follows that his people shall also prosper. When a King faces great sacrifice, so too will the men he leads. Both Land and people are bound by the strength of their King.
